A mother gives birth to a baby boy weighing 6.30 kilograms who can wear nine-month-old clothing.

Cary Patonai had scheduled a C-section in anticipation of a significantly larger baby. However, to their surprise, when the child, Finnley, was born, they received an unexpected surprise. Weighing 6.3 kilograms, Finnley required clothing typically suitable for a nine-month-old infant. Cary recalls, “Everyone was taken aback, saying, ‘I’ve never seen such a big baby before.'”

Before the birth, Cary and Tim Patonai were informed that their baby would be large. The doctor predicted that Cary’s infant would weigh over six kilograms. Cary remarked, “The prediction was so accurate that I had almost double the amount of discomfort. To say I had an even larger baby and was extremely uncomfortable is an understatement.”

During her recent ultrasound, she was informed that the baby weighed 5.8 kilograms, but it was suggested that this might be an overestimate and the actual weight at delivery would likely be slightly lower. However, this expectation did not come true.

When attempting to put a diaper on the baby, the hospital staff had to order a special size as the available options did not fit. Even the family’s prepared clothing proved to be too small. They had to quickly go to the store and buy clothing specifically designed for infants aged six to nine months.

Prior to being discharged, Finnley stayed in the hospital’s neonatal ward for a few days. “During his time in the ward, there were four babies, and Finnley’s weight equaled the combined weight of the other three babies.”
