Couple adopts siblings, later has quadruplets.
A couple from Pennsylvania has become parents to nine children after welcoming quadruplets, following the adoption of four siblings. Maxine and Jake Young had a biological son named Henry before adopting the siblings in December 2019. The couple then decided to try for another child and were surprised when Maxine became pregnant with quadruplets, turning their family into a total of 11 in just three years. The quadruplets were born about a year after the adoption.
Jake and Maxine got married in May 2016 and were eager to start a family, as reported on a GoFundMe page initiated by Jake’s mother, Arlette Young.
Arlette Young stated that Maxine had always had a desire to foster and adopt children and build a big, blended family with both adopted and biological children. Jake fully supported this idea and was excited about having a home filled with love, laughter, and perhaps a bit of chaos.
The couple’s journey to building their family was filled with more love and chaos than they initially expected. They began by taking in three siblings in July 2017, who were aged four, two, and 11 months at the time. A month later, they welcomed a newborn baby girl, making it a total of four adopted siblings.
Despite this, they continued trying for a biological child to complete their family. However, they faced several challenges such as multiple miscarriages, chemical pregnancies, and fertility treatments like IVF and IUI. Finally, they were blessed with their son, Henry, in October 2018.
Less than a year after the birth of their son Henry, Maxine and Jake Young adopted the four siblings they had been fostering on December 20, 2019, bringing their total number of children to five. Maxine shared with WFMZ that it was a chaotic time, as they went from having no children to having five in less than a year. The Young family also shares their journey on their YouTube channel, The Family Young Vlogs.
After the adoption, the Youngs believed their faмily was complete with seven ren. However, a few weeks later, Maxine discovered that she was pregnant again, and it was unexpected because they had previously needed IVF or IUI to conceive their son. Maxine was surprised and shared the news with her husƄand via text. The couple was stunned to find out that they were not expecting one , but four since Maxine was pregnant with quadruplets.
Maxine delivered her quadruplets on July 31 after 32 weeks of pregnancy. Silas Ledger, Theo Alexander, Beck Killian, and Cecilia Hudson were born between 8 a.m. and 8:02 a.m., each weighing between three and four pounds. Although they spent some time in the NICU, two of the babies were able to go home this week.
Jake expressed that it has been a crazy experience, but the reality hasn’t fully sunk in yet. When they met the babies for the first time, all the struggles and pains of the past few months were immediately forgotten, and everything they had been through was worth it. Maxine added that they feel grateful that all the babies are doing well.
