Mum Shocked After Delivering 11-Pound Baby – Largest at Hospital This Year
Grace, a 38-year-old mother from Berkshire, gave birth to a baby weighing 11lb 5oz, which was the largest newborn at the hospital for the year. Her daughter, Annie, was expected to weigh 8lb 13oz, but was much bigger, making her about the size of a four-month-old baby. Grace, who had a planned C-section at 37 weeks, is proud of her daughter’s size.
The mother, who works full-time, said, “I knew she was going to be big, but I had guessed around 9lb 2oz.” After delivery, she held her daughter in her arms while the medical staff weighed her. “She is also the biggest baby born at the hospital so far this year.”
ɡrасe shared that both her boyfriend and the hospital staff at Friмley Park Hospital in Sυrrey were surprised by Αппie’s weight.
She added, “We were all taken aback when she was weighed. She’s absolutely beautiful. My partner was in disbelief as he knows growth scans can be a bit off, so he guessed she would actually weigh around 8lbs 12oz. We both kept laughing and just admiring her.”
A couple shared their experience of their newborn, who was born the size of a toddler and three times larger than other infants, requiring clothing meant for a six-month-old. The father prepares homemade dinners by chopping vegetables and boiling pasta, insisting it is not dangerous. They donated their daughter’s newborn clothes to the hospital, but even the top popper could not be fastened.
Grace is a mother of three, including Oliʋer, 10, and ΑlƄert, six, who weighed 8lƄ 10ozs and 8lƄ 4ozs, respectively. However, her latest child, Αппie, was significantly larger at 11lbs 5ozs. Grace joked that she’s done having children and doesn’t want to imagine how much the next one could weigh. She also expressed a desire to lose weight, “for good this time!”
