Tigger the cat is a 21-year-old feline who was abandoned at a veterinary office a few months ago. Adriene Buisch, a marketing coordinator at Charm City Veterinary Hospital, stumbled upon Tigger’s story on the Canton Neighbors Facebook page and decided to offer him a loving home. When Buisch adopted Tigger, the poor cat was underweight and his fur was matted. However, with a special diet and a lot of love, Tigger began to put on weight and his fur grew back nicely.
But Buisch soon noticed that Tigger’s health was declining. The vets found out that Tigger’s kidneys were failing and he had a golf ball-sized tumor. Determined to make Tigger’s last days his best, Buisch created a bucket list for the old cat. They’ve crossed off a few items on the list, including a beach trip during Thanksgiving weekend, which Tigger absolutely loved. He sunbathed in the sand and took a walk along the water, making many friends along the way who stopped to pet him and hear his story.
Buisch is on a mission to improve Tigger’s quality of life, despite his health issues. She is providing him with all the love and care that he needs to live out his best life. Tigger’s story is a testament to the power of compassion and how a little bit of kindness can make a world of difference in the life of an animal in need.
Although it may not seem like much to others, all the little outings are a blast for Tigger because he loves being outdoors, with the beach being his favorite destination so far. The most important thing is that Tigger’s story highlights how amazing it is to adopt a senior pet and give them the best remaining days of their life. He has forever changed our hearts and will hopefully inspire others to consider adopting older pets.
